This is day three of tears. Friday, December 28th, was soooooo sad. Our amazing dog, Wally, died. (Thursday, his mix of old age and old injuries became too much to bear- we were forced to make a very painful decision - one that almost ripped our hearts out)

We have been incrediably blessed by this sweet soul in our family!!! Wally came to live at our home February 16, 1989- He was maybe 2 months old. It was a sneaky trick by our friends, Steve and Paula, that gave us almost 19 years of immeasurable love and laughter.

Those of you who met Wally understand what my words cannot express- He was a beautiful animal- but more striking was the love bond that formed the instant you met him- more angel than canine. He is intelligent and wise, obediant and goofy.(We never did identify his breed...our best guess is mostly Maltese & some Gremlin-terrier)

The house seems too quiet today. The years of sharing our love and Wally with a growing family of grandchildren has been the BEST!

Our hearts are filled a tender ache mixed with gratitude.

I read somewhere: "Don't cry because it's over. Rejoice because it happened". It will take us a little while to stop the tears- but we do rejoice!
